Copyright & Trademark Notice

Brandywine Forge respects the intellectual property of others, and we ask our visitors to do the same. This notice explains who owns the content on www.bvforge.com (the “Site”), how you may use it, which names are our trademarks, and how to tell us if you believe something on the Site infringes your copyright.

This notice is part of our Terms of Use. Effective date: October 5, 2026.

1. Copyright

All text, photographs, drawings, graphics, logos, icons, page designs and software on the Site (the “Contents”) are copyrighted materials owned by or licensed to Brandywine Forge and are protected by United States and international copyright laws. © Brandywine Forge. All rights reserved.

Nothing on the Site grants any license or right under any copyright, trade secret, patent, trademark or other intellectual property right (“IP Rights”) of Brandywine Forge or any third party, except the limited permission below. All IP Rights in the Contents, and in the products, designs and processes described in them, are expressly reserved to Brandywine Forge or to the third party that owns them.

2. What you may do

You may view, download and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, including sharing them with your architect, builder, installer or historic review board in connection with your own project, as long as you keep the copyright notice intact and do not alter the material. Anything beyond that, including republishing our text, photographs or drawings on another website, in a catalog or on a marketplace listing, or using them to sell or promote other products, requires our prior written permission. 3. Photographs and drawings

All photographs on the Site are from Brandywine Forge’s own archive of our shop, our work and installed projects. The drawings on the Site are by the shop’s blacksmith, in the style of the American artist and author Eric Sloane. They are original works owned by Brandywine Forge, and they may not be copied or reused without permission. The reference to Eric Sloane describes the artistic style only and does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by Eric Sloane or his estate.

4. Trademarks

“Brandywine Forge” is a service mark of Brandywine Forge. The following product and pattern names, among others, are trademarks of Brandywine Forge:

• Propeller Head™
• Floral “S”™
• Savannah Gem™
• Storm Latch™

Unless authorized in writing by Brandywine Forge, our marks may not be used in connection with any product or service that is not Brandywine Forge’s, in any manner likely to cause confusion among customers, or in any manner that disparages or discredits Brandywine Forge. Please do not use our pattern names to sell hardware made by others.

Other names, brands and marks mentioned on the Site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only. Their mention does not imply endorsement by or affiliation with those owners.

5. Reporting copyright infringement

If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied or used on the Site in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please send a written notice to our Copyright Agent, consistent with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), that includes:

• A physical or electronic signature of the person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright;
• A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed;
• A description of where the material you claim is infringing is located on the Site, with the page address (URL) if possible;
• Your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address;
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the copyright owner’s behalf.

Please note that knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing may make you liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees. We will review every complete notice promptly and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material.

6. Counter-notice

If material you provided to us was removed because of an infringement notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send our Copyright Agent a counter-notice that includes your signature; identification of the material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and telephone number, with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you are outside the United States, any district in which Brandywine Forge may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.

7. If you see our work used elsewhere

We occasionally find our photographs, drawings and descriptions copied onto other websites to sell other people’s hardware. If you come across our work used in a way that looks wrong, we would be grateful if you would let us know at [email protected]. You can also reach us through our contact page.
