Cookie & Local Storage Policy
Last updated October 5, 2026
Many websites use cookies and tracking tools to follow visitors around the Internet. Brandywine Forge does not. This Cookie & Local Storage Policy explains, in plain terms, the small amount of information the Site keeps in your own browser to make the quote list and forms work, why it is there, and how you can clear it.
This policy supplements our Privacy Policy. Effective date: October 5, 2026.
1. We do not use cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store and then send back to the website’s server with each request. www.bvforge.com (the “Site”) sets no cookies of its own. It also loads no third-party scripts, fonts, analytics, advertising, maps or social media widgets, so no outside company can place cookies or trackers through our pages. All of the Site’s scripts and styles are served from the Site’s own server.
That means no analytics profiles, no advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels and no “like” buttons reporting your visit to a social network.
2. What we use instead: browser storage
Modern browsers offer two simple storage areas a website can use on your device:
- localStorage keeps small pieces of data in your browser until you or your browser clear them. Unlike cookies, it is not sent to the server automatically with each page request.
- sessionStorage works the same way but lasts only as long as the browser tab is open. Close the tab and it is gone.
The Site uses these only for the functions described below. None of this data is sent to our server by the Site’s scripts. Your quote list reaches us only if you choose to submit it with the contact or quote request form.
3. Exactly what is stored
| Key | Type | What it holds | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| bf-quote | localStorage | Your hardware quote list: product names, selected options and quantities | Keeps your list intact as you browse from page to page and when you return later, so you can send it with a quote request | Until you remove the items from your list or clear your browser storage |
| bf-cookie | localStorage | Your choice on the storage notice banner | So the banner does not reappear on every page | Until you clear your browser storage |
| bf-thanks-name | sessionStorage | The first name you entered on a form | To greet you by name on the thank-you page | Cleared automatically when you close the tab |
| bf-thanks-type | sessionStorage | The type of form you sent (for example, contact, quote or newsletter) | To show the right message on the thank-you page | Cleared automatically when you close the tab |
The Site does not store your email address, phone number, ZIP code or message text in browser storage. Those details are sent to us only when you submit a form.
4. The storage notice banner
On your first visit, the Site shows a short notice explaining that it uses browser storage for the quote list. Your choice is saved in “bf-cookie” so we do not keep asking. Because the Site uses no tracking or advertising technology, there are no optional tracking categories to accept or reject; the storage described here is what makes the quote list work. If you would rather not use browser storage at all, you can block it in your browser settings (see Section 5). The Site will still let you read every page, but the quote list will not be remembered between pages. You can always describe the hardware you need in the message box of our contact form, or simply call us at 610-948-5116.
5. How to view or clear browser storage
You are in control of the data in your browser. You can:
- Remove items from your quote list using the controls on the quote list page.
- Close the tab to clear the sessionStorage items automatically.
- Clear site data for bvforge.com in your browser settings. In most browsers this is found under Settings, then Privacy (or Privacy and Security), then Cookies and Site Data or Site Settings, where you can find bvforge.com and choose to clear its data. Clearing “cookies and site data” also clears localStorage.
- Use a private or incognito window, in which storage is discarded when the window closes.
- Inspect the data yourself using your browser’s developer tools (usually under Application or Storage), where you will see the keys listed above and nothing else from us.
Clearing storage will empty your quote list, so you may wish to send it to us first.
6. Third parties
There are none. The Site does not embed content from other companies, so no third party can set cookies or read storage through our pages. Our web hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested and date and time) for security and troubleshooting, as described in our Privacy Policy; those logs are not cookies and are not used to track you across websites.
If you follow a link from our Site to another website, such as an architect’s site, that website may use its own cookies under its own policies, which we do not control.
7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we do not track visitors or sell or share personal information, the Site behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a valid opt-out request in any case.
8. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the Site uses browser storage, or decide to add any cookie or outside service, we will update this page and the table above before the change takes effect, and change the “Last updated” date.
